On August 2nd, 2021, I asked my best friend to marry me. Rachel and I agreed to marry each other that night on the balcony of the Cosmopolitan over looking the Bellagio fountains. To say I was nervous is an understatement. Throughout my entire life, I have never been more nervous than I was that night and I’m positive Rachel could tell. Knowing that the person I wanted to be with for the rest of eternity was finally in my life, I wanted to make that night special and memorable. I knew right away I wanted to marry Rachel and on that night, the love of my life made me the luckiest man on earth.
Travis and I knew of each other from middle and high school, but we never spoke. Years later, I seen him on my suggested friends list on Instagram and added him. We followed each other and would occasionally like a picture or two on each other's page, but still never spoke! One day I posted a meme that said "that married by 30 ish is looking really 45ish." He wrote back to the meme and said he felt my pain lol. That was on July 25th 2020, and almost exactly 2 years later we are getting married! It's one of my favorite stories to tell. I finally slid into his DM's a few weeks after that exchange and we had our first "date" at a local bar. I immediately thought he was so rude, and didn't think he was even into me. When I left I kept telling myself "I'm never talking to him again!" ..ten minutes later he sent me a text saying he had a good time and it was history from there. Thank you babe for sending that text, who knows where we would be today if you hadn't!
