Anayah and Tanner originally met at a Super Bowl Party in 2022. Anayah was being a wing woman for her best friend and roommate Samantha. Samantha was talking to this guy that was in the army ROTC program at NMSU who we will call Dumbass. He had invited both girls over to a Super Bowl party. When they showed up, they realized they were the only two women in a room full of 15 ROTC army men. Anayah’s job at the party was to keep Dumbass’ best friend occupied so Samantha and Dumbass could talk and get to know each other better. Well the friend would not stop interrupting and Anayah got fed up and told him if he tried to do it one more time she would scream bloody murder. He tried to call her bluff and she screamed bloody murder in the middle of the party. Tanner had been sitting on the opposite side of the party and was very invested in the game. But when Anayah screamed bloody murder, Tanner was halfway across the room ready to beat the guy, whom he was friends with, into a pulp for some girl he never met. Anayah was very impressed and had been dazzled by his dimples. So she decided to flirt with him a little by throwing goldfish across the room trying to get them in his mouth. The party ended and they didn’t end up talking. Tanner kicked himself for not talking to her, but two weeks later, the girls moved houses and Dumbass went to help Samantha assemble her furniture. He took Tanner to help. He met the other roommate but Anayah wasn’t there at the time. A few days later, March 23,2022, Anayah went to an intramural volleyball game at the activity center to wing woman again for Samantha who was watching Dumbass play. Their new roommate went too. When Anayah arrived, she was dazzled by the dimples of the guy at the front desk. She recognized him, but couldn't remember where from. Samantha reminded her that he was at the Super Bowl Party. After the intramural game, Anayah was just going to smile at him and walk by because he was far too cute and she felt shy. But as fate would have it, the new roommate stopped at the desk, pointed at Tanner and said “you’ve been in my house”. Tanner’s eyes got huge and he looked terrified. So Anayah jumped in and explained that they were both Samantha’s roommates and he had gone with Dumbass to help set up her furniture. They started talking at the front desk, all the while, Tanner had to pee the whole time but was afraid that if he went to the bathroom Anayah would leave. After an hour of talking, all the girls went to leave and Anayah thought this would be where they parted ways. But as she was walking out Tanner called out, “Hey wait a minute can I get your number so if I ever hurt myself you can patch me up since you're a nursing student?” in front of all the girls, the whole AC lobby, and God. She said sure. He texted her the next day and they chatted and got to know each other a little. Anayah started to fall immediately. The second day of texting Tanner shocked the hell out of Anayah by facetiming her out of the blue to show her something and yap. Anayah then got a bright idea that she and Samantha should plan a party so that she could casually invite him over. This was on March 26, 2022. The girls planned an entire party, cleaned the house, planned a seating arrangement, and made themed snacks in one day so Anayah could invite him over. When he got there, Anayah was so nervous, and they were both very awkward the whole night. The next day Tanner participated in the Bataan Death March where he called Anayah every couple of hours to yap when he got bored. A couple of days later Anayah invited him over to make cookies. Tanner then started dancing with her in the kitchen and pulled out a swing dance flip. Anayah was very impressed with his dancing skills. They hung out almost every day after that and on April 2nd, 2022, they made it official, and the rest is history.
