We met while in the military at Keesler Air Force Base, MS in 2003. We worked the same position but in different locations on base. We were both members of the African American Heritage Committee and that's the first time I laid eyes on him. After a few run ins I had his attention too. We knew some of the same people, worked on the same committee, and that's how we met and became friends. After he retired and moved away, we always kept in touch with each other and visited each other when we could. We officially started dating in 2016, got engaged in 2021 and we will be married July 1st 2023; about 20 years after we first met. There are no complaints because it was well worth the wait.
