Sometimes love arrives unexpectedly, at just the right moment, when God’s timing aligns two hearts destined to be together. Our love story began not with a grand gesture or a perfectly planned meeting but with a simple, unassuming encounter—one that would blossom into something extraordinary. The Beginning: A Divine Connection We first crossed paths at Grace Covenant Church East River, working in ministry, serving faithfully, and never imagining that God was quietly weaving our stories together. We shared the same space, the same community, but never really saw each other that way—at least not yet. Then one day, while stuck in the familiar Northern Virginia traffic on Route 1, Chris sent that first message. It was unexpected—a spark in the mundane. The text conversation flowed. Chris wanted to call, but I told him there was one non-negotiable: no calls between 7 and 7:30 PM—because that’s when I faithfully watched Jeopardy!. That little detail was just the beginning of us discovering each other's quirks and habits, and Chris, in his gracious way, respected it. Two weeks went by before we finally connected by phone. When we did, the conversation took off—like a familiar melody we’d both been waiting to hear. We laughed, shared stories, and before we knew it, hours had passed. It wasn’t just small talk; it was intentional. Each time we spoke, we went deeper, learning more, leaning in closer, growing more certain that this wasn’t just chance—it was God’s doing. Our First Date: The Realization Our first official date was at Fogo de Chão at the National Harbor. Surrounded by the hum of the restaurant and the twinkle of the waterfront lights, it felt as though time stopped just for us. The conversation was effortless, the laughter abundant, and the chemistry undeniable. We both knew right away—this was different. It wasn’t just a date; it was the beginning of a beautiful journey. From that night on, there was no looking back. Our time together, whether in person or on the phone, felt sacred—like every word and every moment was building toward something unshakable. Days turned into weeks, and we couldn’t help but marvel at how naturally our lives were intertwining. What started as a chance message had now become an intentional, purposeful relationship—an acceleration of love that only God could orchestrate. The Proposal: A Love Rooted in the Lord On March 12, 2025, Chris proposed, sealing what our hearts had already known—this was forever. His words were filled with love, promise, and the unwavering certainty that God had brought us together for a reason. It was more than a proposal; it was an affirmation that our love was rooted not just in romance but in faith and divine purpose. Our Forever Begins And so, on August 9, 2025, we will stand hand in hand, surrounded by the love of our family and friends, ready to say “I do” and step into the next chapter of our story. We know that our journey will be full of love, laughter, and faith—and through it all, we will hold on to the beautiful truth that God’s timing is perfect, His plans are good, and our love story is only just beginning.
