Chris & I met while working together at the Fish Market in Palo Alto. I was a young hostess in my first "real" restaurant job, and Chris had just returned from San Luis Obispo, where he was attending community college. We didn't pay too much attention to one another until sports became a regular part of our conversation at the host stand on Sunday mornings. His adventure craving and easy-going demeanor really drew me to want to get to know him more. He slyly invited to a Halloween party at his new apartment, and the rest is history!
Tani and I met working at a restaurant together. I was a server and she was a host. I was immediately attracted to her and after a little while asked her to come to a Halloween party. We began dating shortly after and the rest is history!
What a year 2020 was! Chris and I were "planning" to go and get a Christmas tree, and Chris mentioned that we go on a quick hike at Castle Rock State Park. We hadn't been in so long, so I thought it would be a great idea to get back up there. Turns out, Chris never intended that we get a Christmas tree, and instead guided me to the very place that he showed me on our first date. After faking some photos of me and the landscape, I turned around and found him on one knee! We later laughed because I didn't even let him get one word out before saying yes - typical Tani!
One of our first dates was to Castlerock state park which I have been going to since I was a kid. My favorite spot in the park is a massive rock the overlooks the Santa Cruz mountains and the Pacific ocean. After 9 years of dating, I took her back to this rock and proposed.
