We like to say our story started with a school entrance and a pair of yellow Converse. The first time we saw each other—or at least the first time Tania saw Talia—was while waiting for the school bus to Vo-Tech. Talia was rushing into school for homeroom, wearing a white shirt, blue khakis, and yellow Converse. Something about that moment just stuck. We didn’t know it then, but that small glance was the beginning of everything. A few weeks later, life lined things up again. Tania had a job interview at the Southside McDonald’s, and there she was—Talia—this time in the drive-thru window, working. Same girl, same energy, same feeling. It didn’t feel like an accident; it felt like God placing us in the right spot at the right time. From there, the story really started to write itself. We followed each other on social media, and the DMs began—little reactions, jokes, and late-night conversations that slowly became “good morning” and “text me when you get home.” Our shifts at McDonald’s overlapped, and all the in-between moments—laughing in the back, sharing fries, and venting about work—turned a simple connection into something real. We went from school hallway meetups and stock room shenanigans to being each other’s person. Through long days, growing pains, and so many memories, our relationship kept deepening and grounding us. Now, we’re stepping into a new chapter—walking into forever side by side. We’re so grateful that what started with a glance at first sight, a McDonald’s interview, and a few DMs led us here.
