This may be a simple story for some, however our story will always be special to us! We both were 30 something years old living our lives being single and crazy. Being single meant going out until the crack of dawn, spending time trying new foods, drinking and just getting by. Until one day on 2/5/21, I decide to go to karaoke with some friends. During this time we were in the phase where we didn't know if we wore a mask indoors due to the pandemic. My friends and I would usually find ourselves at the local bar and grill on a Friday night, however this one special night they offered a new place out of the blue, called The American Legion, Post 91. "What the heck is that?" I wondered. Hey, it's something new let's try it! We show up to this small building and we walk in, masks and all, where we are being stared at by people who are not wearing masks..oh sweet! I look around the smokey place and realize we may be the youngest people there, but hey, I heard the drinks are cheap! We sit down at a table in the front and start ordering drinks and listening to somewhat decent karaoke. At one point I get up to use the restroom where I get stopped by this young guy with grown out black hair sticking up, and he says, "What are you singing tonight?" Me: "Oh no, I don't sing.. nope not tonight." Him: "Oh come on! You have to!" In his drunken slur, "We will see about that!" The night went on and this crazy Korean guy kept coming over to our table and buying us drinks and green tea shots that were double the usual size. Somehow, with his hair sticking up, a missing front tooth, and his loud personality, he sucked me into Dennys at 2 AM. We talked and laughed and had a good time. As I am thinking, "Who is this guy, am I crazy?" Love at first sight right? At the time, I was staying over at a friends house, however I didn't have a key to their place and here it is 3 AM, everyone was asleep. After about 20 minutes of driving me around trying to find me a place to stay he finally said, "Just stay at my place." Sounds good, but no funny business! We did just that..we passed out so fast. The next morning I was so hungover I just wanted to get home. We went to breakfast and as he checked us in he tells the hostess, "Morning, I need a table for me and one night stand, oh and where is the bathroom?" They didn't know what to say and I just laughed. People next to us were just stunned of what he just said. I am over here thinking, oh he thinks he's so funny? Skip to the next day for superbowl where he went to a friends house and I went to the local bar. Later that night he showed up to drive my drunk self home...well.. to his place again. The next morning I looked like death and felt like death...This crazy Korean guy jumps out of bed and says, "Want to go to Sedona today?" As I am barely waking up, trying to grab water and feeling like a train hit me I say, "ummm ok I guess." Off we went... Our relationship has grown stronger as we keep learning about each other. We love spending time with our families, friends and going on new adventures! Cheers to the rest of our lives!
