We met at work and I didn't even think she noticed me. From the moment I saw her, I just knew that she was special. Over the next three years, we would go on to become friends, lose contact with each other, and somehow found our way back. Our friendship quickly turned into something more but we were both too shy to say it out loud. We were each others best friends through the many highs and lows of our personal lives. On May 1st, 2021, she finally told me that she was in love with me. There was nobody like her. Nobody had ever made me feel the way she did. From that moment on, our connection grew stronger for each other and I knew she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
I had been planning this proposal for at least 4 months. To execute this big night, we planned for a special night out for my mom's birthday. We went shopping for outfits together and she remained as clueless as ever. She was so excited to get dressed up and go to a fancy restaurant..or so she thought! I invited some of our closest family and friends over for this special night. The day of, I told her I "forgot" something at the house so she would have to go back and get it for me. The moment she walked through the door, tears immediately started rolling down my face. I was so overcome with the amount of love I have for her and to see the look on her face brought me so much warmth. In that moment, I fell more in love with her and I knew that she was my forever. On June 10th, 2022, I proposed to my best friend and soulmate. It was absolutely one of the best days of our lives.
