Diego and Tanel met in the Emergency Room where Tanel works. Diego was an EMT for the local fire department and was transporting a patient to the ER when a nurse with purple shoes caught his eye. He talked a mutual friend into introducing him to Tanel one day and they talked about their shared love for horses. Whenever Diego came into the ER with a patient, he would check the assignment board for Tanel’s name and find an excuse to talk to her, even delivering her favorite coffee order to her a few times. Eventually, he talked her into going to breakfast with him after they both got off of their shifts in the morning and the rest is history. Diego proposed to Tanel at their favorite beach, Newport Beach, on March 22, 2025 and later surprised her with a celebration dinner with both of their families in attendance. Diego and Tanel now live together in Long Beach with their dog, Midas.
