It was supposed to be a girls night. Alicia Dennett and I were pregaming at her house. I was scrolling through Hinge. The thing with Hinge that was valuable was the Rose. You only got one a day or a week or something like that. It was a big deal if you sent a rose. Well, I get a notification that someone sent me a rose and left a voice comment on my profile. On my profile, I had asked potential suitors to teach me something or tell me something they were passionate about. Well, out pops this wonderfully deep soothing voice talking about computers. I was entranced. His picture was cute too. Bonus- he works for the schools! We continue to flirt over the app or maybe text, as Alicia and I head out to the Pub, and I invite Justin down. Well, after she and I arrive and get our drinks, a few guys came over and started talking to us, not taking no for an answer and making things uncomfortable. I text Justin the situation and ask him if he is willing to pretend to know me. His response? "I've got sisters. No problem." After a bit, Justin pops up at our table, giving me a big hug and acting like we had plans to meet up. He ushers Alicia and I to a different area, and talk the night away! We've not stopped talking to each other since.
We hadn't been dating that long, maybe a few months. We were doing the weekend warrior thing and texting and talking through the week and our schedules. We ended up going to a birthday party and caught covid! He tested positive first, and I was the next day. I looked at him and said "Well, wanna be roommates for a few weeks?" And I never left.
