We met on the Friday after Thanksgiving of 2016. I had spent the holiday with my oldest sister and her in-laws & we decided to go out in Havre that night where we met up with a few of their good friends. As I'm sure you guessed, one of those good friends was, of course, Nathan. I actually had to punch Alison in the arm for not warning me of just how good looking Nathan is. ;) I hadn't even made it 45 minutes out of town the next day on my way home when my sister sent me a text saying Nathan told her she could pass his number along to me "if she wanted." Not long after, we were talking all day, every day. I met him in Great Falls the following weekend and we've been inseparable since. Every weekend, heck, every chance we got, any day of the week, we were together. Regardless of the commute between us. We decided in July of 2017 that I should make my move to Zurich, MT to live with him instead of the constant driving. Best decision we've ever made, now coming in second to deciding to spend the rest of forever together.
For starters, it was my birthday. All I had requested for the day was that I got waffles for breakfast (which I did). I was under the assumption we were going to lay on the couch all day and just watch movies, which I was completely okay with. Then, we had to go brand the new cows Pat had just bought. Okay, no big deal. I am always up for some branding! More plans started to arise as the day went on so I had a fishy feeling that it might be the day! As the evening went on it seemed more normal and just felt like a great birthday. So, I didn't figure it was the day ;) little did I know, not long after we ate some cheesecake, I was going to hear the best little speech/big question of my life. In front of his family and a couple of our close friends, he got down on one knee and popped the question. Best. Day. Ever.
