Table Mountain

Must-do! If you want to take the cable car, it costs about R300-400 for a return ticket. Some people hike it, which takes about half a day - if you want to, you might want to book a tour group!
Signal Hill
Cape Town, WC 8001, South Africa
Great views. No entrance fee. Plenty of parking near the top, but if you are going at peak times (sunset or weekends) then you might struggle to get a spot. You can even paraglide from here!
Lion's Head
Cape Town, WC 8001, South Africa
It's free to climb the mountain and can take 2-3 hours, but apparently it's a tricky hike (we haven't done it) so if you are looking to visit Lion's Head, you might want to book a tour group.
Chapman's Peak Drive

One of the best things we've done in Cape Town! It is a short distance of just 8km so take your time (there are so a lot of stops where you can pull in to take photos or just enjoy the views).
Cape Point

The most southwesterly point on the African continent and is where the point of two oceans, the Atlantic and the Indian ocean, meet. There is a 1 hour trail to the lighthouse or you can pay for a short tram ride.
V&A Waterfront

A busy shopping centre in Cape Town, with lots of restaurants and bars. It also has the Cape Wheel ride and the Two Oceans Aquarium. There's plenty of parking here!
Robben Island

Famous for being the site where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. You can get to Robben Island by ferry from the V&A Waterfront. The ferry should be included in the price of the ticket.
Bo-Kaap

A popular daytime destination, Bo-Kaap is known for its narrow cobbled streets lined with colourful houses. If you are passing by, it's worth a drive through (no need to stop)!
Camps Bay

One of the more popular beaches in Cape Town so it can get busy! Behind the beach, posh seafood restaurants, mellow cafes and cocktail bars with patios overlook the promenade.
Sea Point

Ocean-facing Sea Point is another lively, suburb with sandy beaches. Fun fact - baby Tamzyn use to be taken for walks by her parents along the promenade here.
Muizenberg

Muizenberg is another town in Cape Town and is known for being a surfer's paradise, so if you fancy some surfing lessons, this is a place to go... but watch out for sharks!
Hout Bay

The starting point for the Chapman's Peak Drive is Hout Bay (but you can also do the drive from Noordhoek). There's some great restaurants in Hout Bay and a very popular market called 'Bay Harbour Market'.
Fish Hoek

Fish Hoek is another town situated about halfway down the Cape Peninsula. It is well known for its beach, which gets jam-packed on sunny days. Fun fact... Tammy use to go here for camping trips when she was growing up!
Boulders Beach

Located just near historic Simon's Town, Boulders Beach is around a 40 minute drive from Cape Town's city centre and is famous for its colony of African penguins.
Hermanus

Popular for whale-watching. It's a about 2 hours from the centre of Cape Town. Just a tip - we went on our last visit and went on a boat whale watching tour, but actually saw more whales walking along the coast after.
Oranjezicht City Farm Market

The first market we went to in South Africa! Great food, great shops, really recommend! It's open Saturdays and Sundays. It's also open on Wednesday evenings!
Root44 Market and Wine Emporium
Annandale Road, Stellenbosch, WC 7600, South Africa
So much food! It was really busy when we went and there was limited parking so try get there early! It's open 9am to 9pm from Wednesday to Sundays.
Mojo Market
30 Regent Road, Cape Town, WC 8060, South Africa
Another market we visited! This one is open 7 days a week from 8am till midnight. The market has food stalls, 4 bars, shows sports and has live music.
Spice Route
Suid-Agter-Paarl Road, Paarl, WC 7646, South Africa
This is right near our wedding venue. It's a large complex with beer & wine tastings, bistro dining & artisan crafts, plus mountain bike trails.
Bay Harbour Market

If you are visiting Hout Bay, then this market might be worth a visit. It's open 5-9pm on Fridays, and 9:30am to 4pm on weekend (check this before you go incase it changes).
Noordhoek Farm Village

Open everyday, this market has plenty of places to eat and drink. If you're planning to do Chapman's Peak Drive, then you might want to to here before or after.
The Old Biscuit Mill

We haven't been to this market yet, but we've heard it's really good! It's open every day of week as well (if you go, let us know what you think).
Lourensford Market

If you want to visit a wine estate whilst in Cape Town, this one is highly rated and also has a market open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays!
Franschhoek Wine Tram

We haven't been on any wine tours in Cape Town, but if you fancy doing one, we visited Franschhoek on our last visit and it's a really really nice town! The tour lets you hop on and off at different wineries.
Cape Point Vineyards

If you are visiting Cape Point, then you might want to tie in a visit to this winery if that is on your list of things to do! It's meant to be one of the highest rates ones but there are loads of others.
Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden

One of the world's first botanical gardens. Situated in Cape town right on the slope of Table Mountain and about 13km from the city centre.
Goudini Spa
Rawsonville, WC 6845, South Africa
This is a popular spa resort in around an hour from the centre of Cape Town. We've heard good things! It's on Route 62 which is a well-known scenic drive in South Africa.
Montagu Springs

Known for it's hot mineral springs, Montagu Springs is located around 2 hours from Cape Town. There's also a lot of accommodation options and villas here.
Silvermine Nature Reserve

Silvermine nature reserve for hiking, picnic or swimming. So if you don't fancy swimming in the sea or a pool, then you could go here!
Atlantis Dunes

27 square kilometres of pure white sand dunes. The dunes are a protected, completely unspoiled area. You can do quad-biking and 4x4 hires here!
Elgin Adventures

We didn't get time to do this on our last trip, but it looks good! It's about an hour drive and has lots of adventurous activities like ziplining and quad biking.
Cango Caves
Oudtshoorn, WC 6625, South Africa
One of the country's most popular tourist caves. You can have an easy stroll through and finish up or do their adventure tour which involves lots of narrow tunnels and passages.
Knysna
Knysna, WC, South Africa
Knysna is one of the destinations on the Garden Route. It's a good place to have a base if you do choose to do the road trip. To do the Garden Route, you'd need at least 4-5 days, but you could a lot longer!
Garden Route Game Lodge

This is game reserve we visited on the Garden Route which was really good! There are other ones a bit closer to Cape Town, like the Aquila Game Reserve.
Kruger National Park
South Africa
We haven't visited, but if you want to visit Kruger, you might want to fly from Cape Town to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. It is then a 50 minute drive to Kruger.
