The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is home to classical and modern art pieces that have been collected and/or donated by wonderful art patrons, local and international. Take the famous underground Cruz-Diez color tunnel to get to the other side.

Houston’s art scene is so robust, there is a FREE art museum! This collection house contains all kinds of contemporary and classic art. It is a much smaller museum than MFAH and sits atop lush green grass, the perfect place for a stroll or picnic. The Menil is located a very short walk away is the Rothko Chapel, a non-denominational place of contemplation that houses some of Mark Rothko’s last works. It is a solemn place that anyone is welcome to visit and meditate within.
