In Dominican tradition, the Godmother of the Wedding is said to have had a hand in helping the couple get together and stay together. I can truly say if it were not for my little sister Melinda, Jochy and I would not be together. I refused to give him my phone number, so my sister literally passed on messages between the two of us. I'm so happy to have you by my side.

We met 20 years ago (on December 12, 1999) at UNC- Chapel Hill during a party for our Bible Talk. I was so intimidated by her because she was a senior and I was a freshman. Little did I know this amazing woman would become my best friend in the whole world. She's seen my ups, downs, smiles, and frowns and yet she's still around. I love this woman so much...I can't wait for you all to meet her.

My cousin Michelle has been there from the start. Growing up she was like another sister to me. If it were not for Michelle, Jochy and I may have never met. Little known fact: I wanted to go to Puerto Plata, DR for my birthday trip. Michelle convinced us to go to Punta Cana because it was closer to the airport lol. There is no way I could have gotten married without her.

Yasundri is Jochy's sister and the first person in his family I met. The first time I walked into her home, she ran to me and hugged me like a long lost friend. She has welcomed me to the DR and into the family like a true sister. I am so happy to have her as a part of my bridesmaid. Yasundri es la hermana de Jochy y la primera persona en su familia que conocí. La primera vez que entré en su casa, corrió hacia mí y me abrazó como un amigo perdido hace mucho tiempo.
