Our love story goes a little something like this...we were introduced to one another through mutual friends...well not exactly. I guess it's more accurate to say we were made aware of one another's existence through mutual friends. One of Ruben's close friends and my sorority sister, who happen to be husband and wife, decided they should introduce Ruben and I. After about a year or more of hesitancy, because we were both getting over previous relationships, we finally agreed to meet. In February 2011, our friends invited us both to their home for a Super Bowl party. This is where the official introduction would take place. Well at least that was the plan. I chickened out and was a no show! Ruben decided he wasn't going to wait around for the official introduction, so he sent me an inbox message through Facebook. I saw the message, but I waited two days to respond (that's in the rule book, right ladies!) We chatted for a few days via Facebook Messenger then exchanged phone numbers. The next day, he called. I didn't answer (that's also in the rule book!) I returned his call the following day. After talking over the phone for about 2 weeks, we arranged a date. Our first date, on March 12, 2011, was amazing. We connected and enjoyed one another so much we went to lunch the very next day. Then dinner again the day after that and the rest is history!
