We met at G.B. Leighton's Pickle Park in Fridley, MN to watch Teddy's friends band Jonah and The Whales. Before the band started, we sat at a booth to get to know one another. You could tell we're both really nervous at the beginning but after five to ten minutes of talking it felt like we'd known each other for awhile. The band had started and we're still talking....we did end up going over to watch the band and even got Teddy to dance a little bit.
I had just gotten home from taking Charlie on a walk and had started doing dishes....normal Thursday in the summer but little did I know. Teddy got home from work, said hi and went straight downstairs a couple seconds later he came back upstairs gave me a kiss and then he mumbled he couldn't wait any longer and he went straight back downstairs and came back up and then he started saying "ouch" and grabbed his calf...I went over to him and before I knew it he was down on one knee with the ring sparkling in the wedding box. He said, I think this is supposed to be how you do it and I just keep saying...Oh, my gosh...over and over because the whole week before he kept telling me he was going to propose with a ring out of a grocery store vending machine and then he put the ring on my finger. We kissed and hugged...we were both still shaking...we'll call it both nerves and excitement and after we both calmed down a bit Teddy said to me you never said "YES" and I said you never ended up asking....He asked and I said "YES."
