By the time Tami and Patrick had met each other, both had been previously married, had children, and divorced. To say the least, once they finally ran into each other, neither could care less about the opposite sex, let alone what the other thought of them. Walls had been carefully constructed to keep each of our heroes from having to go down that painful road again. What started chipping away at those walls: “Pop-A-Shot”, a will to win, and the STL Cardinals. You see, when Tami and Patrick met that fateful night in Johnny’s Hall of Fame bar, they had only seen each other online in pictures. These two “kids” decided to give meeting each other a shot, because what did they have to lose? Tami was headed downtown with her friends and so was Patrick, as a message was sent requesting to meet. After a short meet and greet, get to know you couple of drinks, the conversation was going well. It wasn’t until Tami had made the statement of being a “Pro” at “Pop-A-Shot” (timed shooting game) after a couple drinks that everything became real. Tami and Patrick alike, refuse to lose. To this day, each will debate as to how much the other won by, but Patrick did in fact win. Little did he know, what else he won that night, (PUKE), NO, no, no. We are not going that route, this is not one of those stories. Fast forward a couple months, and these two are now living together. Add both Ava and Bryce into the picture, and you have an instant family. That’s when orders arrived and Patrick gets deployed. By the time he returned home from Afghanistan, Tami and he had spent more time apart in the relationship, than together. Through it all, the ups and downs, trials and tribulations, both Tami and Patrick found a way to see it through. Not out of sheer will or determination, but because of the love and humor they share with each other. You will most likely NOT get some of the jokes each make to the other than makes them buckle over in laughter, but they do, and that’s what is important.
