In order to commemorate their chance encounter at State Fair, Hayden and Tami made it a priority to go back every year on the day they met. Hayden had long considered State Fair the perfect place to pop the question, to really bring their relationship full circle. Due to COVID, State Fair was canceled in 2020 so Hayden had to pivot. He asked Tami if she wanted to have a picnic at the park where they ended their first date and took the first of many happy pictures together. Tami blissfully obliged, thinking this would just be their annual trip back to that park bench to take a picture and enjoy a meal together. After finishing a meal crafted to please, Hayden began to reminisce on their 4 years together and how much they'd grown both personally and collectively. He asked her "when we were sitting on this bench getting to know one another, did you ever imagine us being here together 4 years later?" She paused, taken aback by the levity of the question. Before she had time to answer, he stood up and took her hand in his. He got down on one knee and said "I have another question for you, will you marry me?" Totally stunned, she began to cry, while managing to get out the only word he needed to hear. "Yes!"
