She said yes!

Tamela and Tommy were first introduced by mutual friends, John & Erika Martino, at The Greens Golf & Country Club. This is where their story quietly began in the Summer of 2022. Tamela, a highly successful real estate professional with a naturally inquisitive spirit, was well known among the club’s members. Tommy, recently single, was focused on advancing his career, and had only begun spending time at the club playing golf with various groups. At the time, their lives seemed to be moving along different paths. Their initial introduction was very brief. It happened that summer during the Galaxy member-guest tournament. Prior to the event, Tamela was seeking a ticket to attend the festivities. And Tommy, with the assistance of his friend John, offered the perfect solution. She could be his plus one. Tamela was very intentional in declaring the invitation was purely as friends. In fact, during the entire weekend they spoke for no more than five minutes before going their separate ways for several months. Then fate intervened one evening that December. Tommy had just left the club following a business meeting when their mutual friends stepped in again. Erika called to tell Tommy that Tamela had asked about him that evening. Remembering her striking blue eyes, Tommy quickly returned to the club hoping for the chance to finally have a real conversation. That evening, they played darts, shared cocktails, laughed endlessly, and talked late into the night—well into the early hours of the morning. What began as a simple conversation quickly grew into something far more meaningful. They began dating soon after and spent all of 2023 building a relationship before taking a brief six-month break in the Spring of 2024. During that time, Tommy focused on personal growth, reconnecting with his faith at North Church and gaining clarity about the future he wanted. Tamela, meanwhile, quietly cheered him on from afar while experiencing the most successful year of her career. By the time the 2024 Galaxy tournament arrived, their paths crossed once again—and this time everything aligned perfectly. From that moment forward, their story continued exactly as it was meant to. Today, the couple enjoy the shared friendships they have developed over the course of their dating. They are committed to growing together in their faith and have joined North Church as their home. Here they have participated in individual and group studies. Most recently they attended a pre-marital course where they won the title of “Most Mature in Age” engaged couple. In addition to their faith; family, food, travel and wine remain key to their connection with friends and the enjoyment of new adventures.
