Camp Mad Anthony Wayne

You can stray at the camp for free on Friday and Saturday night however this was a Boy Scout camp and accommodations are primitive. There are bunk beds available but they only have a mattress, you will need to bring all bedding (sleeping bag, pillows, blankets) and there are showers on site

From the Hotel: Travel time 17 min / 8.3 miles Route 60 west for 4.5 miles/10 min (Either take 4th Ave or Veterans Memorial, they both run into Route 60) Turn left at Carson St. (look for VA Hospital signs) Follow for 4 miles (Carson St becomes Spring Valley Dr) camp is 2 miles past VA hospital on the left hand side 2126 Spring Valley Dr, Huntington WV 25704 From the Highway: Highway 64 (east or west) exit #6 for Rt 52 Ironton/ West Huntington Take 1st exit for Madison Ave and turn left, follow for 2 miles (Madison becomes Piedmont) turn left at Carson St/Spring Valley Dr follow for 4 miles camp is 2 miles past VA hospital on the left hand side 2126 Spring Valley Dr, Huntington WV 25704

Helpful Flight Info

Huntington Tri-state airport (HTS) is the closest airport to fly into (11 miles from hotel) with Yeager airport in Charleston (CRW) the next closest at 1hr away. However, It is a small regional airport and usually costs more to fly into. You can fly into a larger airport like Lexington or Cincinnati and rent a car and drive the 2 hours into Huntington usually for less. For my California friends this would be like the price difference of flying into Palm Springs airport versus LAX then driving 2 hours.
