Well, it all started like a modern love story—through an app. But not just any app. No, we met on Coffee Meets Bagel, where apparently the perfect match is just two swipes away, mine and his. Dat's profile about his love for adventure and tropical fruits caught my attention, and after a few messages about...well, we agreed to go on a trip together. And where did we go? Hiking! Because what says ‘romantic date’ more than walking uphill for hours, hoping we don’t trip on rocks or get lost? Nothing says ‘I trust you’ like handing over your phone to the person you're meeting over the internet so they can take your picture on a cliff ledge. But surprisingly, we didn’t get lost (at least not on that trip), and we did make it to the top. And let’s just say, if you can survive a hike with someone and still want to spend the rest of your life with them, it’s true love. True love isn't forged by flirting with quicksand, marching sixteen miles through slot canyons in icy water, or surviving Category 5 rapids. It's forged by staying, laughing, and not saying, 'I told you so.'" It takes a truly perfect partner to survive each other and opposite personalities--and still pack my favorite snacks. Through all of that, when did I definitely know that Dat was compatible? Right when he did the right thing by switching from Samsung to iPhone. What about Dat, when did he know that I was the one? He was forced to. It's not like he has a choice. Fast forward a few years, and here we are, about to hike up the mountain of marriage! It’s been a wild, beautiful, and sometimes uphill journey, but we’ve made it—and we can’t wait for what’s next.
Hi everyone! My story is what Tam said above. Allright, allright. I’m Dat, and I’m the lucky guy who just tricked this girl into marrying me. Honestly, I have no idea what I said or did, but here we are, and she still said yes. Some say I'm the luckiest guy in the world, but I like to think it’s all my charm, wit, and stunning good looks that sealed the deal. Well, actually, I think it was the fact that I endured her singing through long hours of driving without a complaint--so I 'll just keep doing that. I’ve been preparing for today by learning how to dance. As for the dancing and rhythm, let’s just say we’ll be keeping our moves… VERY SIMPLE! But in all seriousness, I’m incredibly grateful for Tam—she’s the love of my life (or the remains of it), my best friend, and now, the person I get to annoy for the rest of my days. I promise to love, support (even through every bad Netflix recommendation or harrowing adventure we've had and will have), and occasionally let her steal the covers. My longevity is the adrenaline that pumps through every vein when I'm with her! I can’t wait for our future together! Thank you all for witnessing this beautiful (and slightly surprising after two postponements) event. And now, I guess it’s time to start the rest of our lives... after a little bit of cake!” P.S.: This message was posted after Tam's approval.
