Nick and Sophie met in the dorms at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire in 2013. At the time, Sophie was a freshman, and Nick was a sophomore. She was a swimmer, and he was rooming with a swimmer. Nick's roommate was dating Sophie's roommate.
Sophie and Nick started hanging out in the dorms, doing homework together as friends.  From there, they started dating, fell in love, and have been together through college and beyond— 11 years!
