Spruce Mountain Ranch is at 7,300 feet elevation. We suggest guests visiting from lower altitudes drink a lot of water and eat iron-rich foods prior to (and throughout) the event. Be aware that alcohol consumption can also affect you differently at higher altitudes.
Spruce Mountain Ranch guests enjoy mild temperatures and sunshine for approximately 300 days of the year. However, we always suggest guests come prepared for any type of weather while visiting the ranch. In early summer you’ll want to consider sunblock, sunglasses, umbrellas, and perhaps a light sweater or jacket for the evening.
Attire: Cocktail - Weather dependent, our ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outdoors. Please assume you will spend some portion of the afternoon or evening outside. Shoes: While you will be visiting a working cattle ranch, the wedding venue is beautifully landscaped with paved outdoor areas. The ceremony site is on flat grass - mind your choice of heels!
The indoor reception venue space is ADA-compliant. And while the outdoor space for the ceremony site may be a little trickier for the mobility-impaired, it can still be easily accessed via wheelchair.
After you pass through the grand front gates, keep to the right of the island and pay close attention to the chalkboard signs throughout the property. There will be clear signage to direct you to the appropriate venue. The first venue you pass will be the Lower Ranch where another wedding will be taking place. Please follow signs to the Upper Ranch / The Ponderosa Room.
Aim to arrive on the property at least 30 minutes before the ceremony start time. This gives you ample time to navigate to the appropriate venue (Upper Ranch), park, use the restroom, locate the ceremony site, and find your seats.
Uber and Lyft have limited service in our area of Larkspur, CO. To ensure reliable transportation, we suggest pre-booking your rides through the Uber and Lyft apps prior to the event. Typically, we’ve found these services dependable for drop-offs but unreliable for pick-ups.
No. We do not permit guests to leave vehicles on the property for any period of time following an event. Vehicles left on the property after the conclusion of an event will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Cell service is limited amid the gorgeous Spruce Mountains. However, they do offer free, reliable Wi-Fi that guests are welcome to use.
Smoking, tobacco, marijuana, or other substance use (except alcohol) is prohibited inside any Spruce Mountain Ranch building. Smoking of tobacco is only permitted in outdoor areas where proper butt and ash receptacles are provided. Marijuana, in any form, is strictly prohibited in any and all areas of the property and will be confiscated if brought onto the premises.
No. Unfortunately, we cannot allow anyone access to our pastures. Our mama cows are very protective of their young, and by nature, will charge if they feel threatened. Startling the cattle can cause them injury. More importantly, we do not want any of our guests to be put at risk. As consolation, you can direct that urge to pet cows towards Gorsko and Kona who will happily accept. They commend you for reading this far.
