We had worked together in the calibration lab for over a year without talking almost at all. I thought the people down on his side of the lab were all bullies (except for Sybrina of course) so I wasn't really interested in chatting. After a couple overtime shifts when we worked together a couple times, I realized there might be more there than I thought. We started talking online a little bit and he asked me on our first date on April Fool's Day 2018. I was so scared that it was an April Fool's joke that I ended up having a little too much "liquid courage". The date ended up going really well. For a little over three years we were able to carpool to work together every day and work side by side. I fell head over heels and still am to this day.

Austin told me he had a surprise getaway for us and that I needed to pack an outfit that was somewhat fancy. We showed up to a beautiful hotel in Seattle where we got all dressed up to go on our mystery date. We grabbed an Uber and showed up at the Space Needle! We went up to the top at the perfect time. After about a 30 minute wait, we caught a beautiful (well timed) sunset. We went outside and to get a better view and he got down on one knee and asked me if I would spend the rest of my life with him and of course I said YES! We were lucky enough to have some strangers capture the moment with a couple photos and send them to us. We can not wait to see you all in June to say "I do"!
