In the fall of 2018 Talia had recently concluded law school, then studying for and taking the bar. While anxiously awaiting to find out if she would become an attorney, she realized she needed a distraction and decided to join a local Chicago kickball team. Devin, having recently suffered a devastating loss in beach volleyball, decided to join the same team with some of his friends to chase another championship. They made small talk at the first few games but their love story really took off when they both attended the same fundraiser at a bar a few weeks later. After seeing Devin across the bar, Talia decided to venture off from the friends she came with and strike up a conversation. Luckily, Talia's instincts were right, and Devin, being enamored with her skills at catcher and ability to trash talk opponents, felt the same chemistry. After becoming kickball champions that season, Devin and Talia began to date and fall in love. The rest as they say is history. Fast forward almost 4 years to a beautiful July summer day when Devin's sister Emily was visiting them in Chicago. Devin suggested taking a mysterious walk to the Lincoln Park Zoo. After finding a secluded spot, and while overlooking the pond and beautiful city skyline, Devin asked Talia to spend the rest of their lives together. Devin had been coordinating with Talia's best friend Abby to fly in from Colorado and she was hiding in the bushes to capture the special moment on camera. When they arrived back at their house, both of their parents and siblings and some very close friends were waiting there to surprise Talia. The day was absolutely perfect. Talia and Devin cannot wait to celebrate their special day with family and friends in Bloomington!
