It all started from a night in Hoboken. Talen won her over by buying her a cookie and showering her with compliments. They both felt an immediate connection & described it as if they’ve known each other for years. Since then, they would spend hours on the phone talking, laughing, and getting closer. Talen was a little hesitant to be in a relationship at the time, but Shawna was able to sway him to fall in love with her.

Talen spent months planning a proposal that he knew Shawna would absolutely love. Between contacting her best friend who lives in North Carolina and various different family and friends, he wanted to make sure that it was everything that she dreamed of and she had no idea. Shawna was looking forward to going out to dinner with Talen’s mom and sister. It was something that had been planned for a while. Upon arrival at the restaurant, walking up the stairs, she heard a song playing that Talen says reminds him of her- “ Golden Hour”. To her surprise, now realizing it was her proposal, she was beyond ecstatic. A red carpet was set up, and her dream man was at the end of it! She speed-walked to him. They shared a special moment. He proposed, and Shawna said yes to being with him forever.
