Travel Note
This is VERY important! The EU continues to push back the date it will require incoming non-EU citizens to purchase/provide a visa in advance of your travel to Ireland. Please keep this in mind when updating passports/purchasing flights, as it currently looks like the visa implementation will be put into effect in mid-2025. Please visit the attached website for updated information!
Flight
Ireland has two major airports - Dublin Airport and Shannon Airport. Flights will be much more frequent, central and easier to come by if flying through Dublin Airport.
Travel Note
If you are planning on staying in Dublin, please note a rental car might not be the best way to go! Dublin Bus has countless routes, and generally operates until late at night. If you are interested in public transport, even if you will be venturing outside of Dublin, we highly recommend purchasing a Leap Card online or at the airport!
Train
Irish Rail is a great way to get around the island! We have used the Belfast Enterprise many times to travel from Dublin to Belfast in Northern Ireland in just around 2 hours. For inter-city adventuring in Dublin, DART is the way to go!
Travel Note
Please note it can be financially beneficial to book a trip to Ireland through vendors such as Expedia and Costco, where airfare, hotel and rental car can be packed in one. Expedia, for example, has monthly payment plans.
Travel Note
We plan on renting an AirBNB as time draws nearer; however, AirBNB does take bookings over one year in advance if you too would like to start planning early!
Hotel
If you have any questions for our venue and booking a room, please email: reservations@ballymagarvey.ie.
