It is with sincere regret and sadness that we have made the difficult decision to cancel our upcoming wedding celebration due to the ongoing public health emergency. Reggie and I are still getting married, but for everyone's safety, it will now be a private ceremony. We look forward to celebrating our one year anniversary with you at Loray Mills in September 2021. Please be on the look out. Invitations will follow.
Reggie and I met at the Health Dept in Rome, GA. Reggie likes to stop there and leave the story to the imagination. However, I feel it important to provide more details. We were both volunteering during an annual community health screening event, sponsored by the 100 Black Men with support from several community-based organizations including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. which I’m a proud member. Reggie, as a member of the 100 Black Men was responsible for keeping the participants energized as they went from health station to station by announcing winners of door busters and prizes. I managed the registration desk at the entrance of the building. I went inside after my shift to see first hand what was going on since this was my first-time volunteering and that’s when Reggie and I locked eyes on each other. The following day the pursuit began. Reggie says he put an APB out on me and enlisted his Morehouse and 100 brother, Greg Shropshire to track me down. Meanwhile, I did what any resourceful and respectable lady would do and friended him on Facebook. We had our first conversation the following Monday. Who knew that love could be found at a Health Dept. on a hot Saturday afternoon?
