Rob and Jackie met while in college at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. They both loved Newport and stayed post-college to start their careers. One winter afternoon at the Corner Cafe, Rob and Jackie's paths crossed while enjoying lunch. Rob approached Jackie and asked her on a date, which was years in the making as Rob had a crush on Jackie throughout college. He asked her to Mudville Pub to watch the University of Alabama (Rolltide!) vs. Notre Dame game and the rest was history. Rob and Jackie moved across the country to Arizona to pursue career opportunities together. With their loving beagle Harry, Rob and Jackie started the next chapter of their lives in the Grand Canyon State! They fell in love with the beautiful desert landscape which led to a future trip to Joshua Tree National Park...

Jackie had always mentioned her dream of visiting Joshua Tree National Park to Rob when they lived on the West Coast. Rob took the opportunity to incorporate a trip to Joshua Tree on a visit back to California. They arrived at Joshua Tree to watch the sunrise one March morning. In the pre-dawn light, they hiked to find a spot to sit to watch the sunrise. As the sun was coming up over the mountains and shining on the Joshua Trees, Rob asked Jackie to marry him. She said YES!
