Michael and I actually both attended New Diana ISD and never crossed paths. We both moved to Spring Hill after two years in New Diana. It wasn't until high school that we knew who each other was. We knew of each other, but never once said one word to each other. I graduated in 2019, and he was still in high-school until he graduated in 2021. We went on our own journey's until over 2 years later, where one of our mutual friends decides to set us up together. (Thank you Rylie!) The next day, I met Michael and spoke to him for the first time on November 22, 2021. We both knew that we would get married one day ever since that moment. People say, "when you know, you know”, and I can't begin to tell anyone just how true that is. As crazy as it sounds, we moved in together after a month, got us our 4th dog, 2 horses, and are basically running a zoo from inside our house. We moved to Longview from Gilmer after almost 4 months, in which 3 weeks later, we are engaged. It is crazy to think that we never crossed paths even though we were in the same schools for over 6 years. God knew what he was doing. He was preparing us and shaping us into who we need to be for both ourselves and each other. It is not the typical story, but I wouldn't change it for the world.
Michael had asked me to get my nails done the day before, and made me go back to the salon when I wasn't satisfied with the color. (Thank goodness because then I had pretty nails for the proposal.) That next evening was our Easter celebration with his family, and he had invited my family to be there as well... So thoughtful. It was there that he said so many sweet words to me in front of our families. He asked me to stand up, and there he knelt down and asked me to be his wife. It was the BEST moment, and I cannot explain how happy we are to start our lives together.
