We decided on forever

Josh and I met through mutual friends. We hung out was essentially for 3 days straight during a "hurricane party" I had. We had the best time playing games and watching movies. He was the perfect gentleman. I, however, got the idea in my head that he was to nice for me, and after that I would not give the poor guy the time of day. I know big surprise me being not nice, go figure. Several years later, we reconnected through social media. I messages him saying "Josh?..." his response was "Colby?...". To make a long story short, We hung out for the first time again on October 12th 2016. He literally sat with me for hours while I did homework just talking and catching up, and again he was the perfect gentleman. Since that day we have been inseparable. I never though sitting on my couch doing homework, in pajamas, with no make up on, that he would one day become not only my husband but my best friend.

First off, I would like to say never in a million years would I have thought Colby and I would have ever crossed paths again. As she eluded to we met through a mutual friend when she was a freshman at Providence College. But what she may not know she had caught my eye weeks before while she was standing in line at a gas station obviously after a night out with friends. Normally mustering up the courage to strike a conversation had never been a issue for me but there was something about this beautiful girl in the little yellow vw bug that just had me tongue tied. So on she went filled up her gas tank and I was left with a feeling like she was a conversation I most definitely should of had. Fast forward a couple weeks and by pure design(who am i kidding it was luck) a friend of ours at the time said hey you want to come hangout play some bored games and wait out the impending hurricane that was heading our way I hesitantly agreed. So on I went not knowing that the same beautiful girl in the little yellow vw bug was a roommate to our mutual friend. So to my surprise there she was and by fate my conscious said dont let this chance go by and I said hey I'm Josh and she said my names Colby. Now I honestly was shocked I had never met any woman named Colby in my life which definitely added to my intrigue . So our weekend came to its conclusion and I asked her for her number because let's face it shes cool as the other side of the pillow and absolutely beautiful. She gave it to me and I didnt want to rush things so I waited trying to be a constant gentleman and at the time dating just wasnt in the cards for us . Then when both of us were on the mend from two hard failed relationship we by fate crossed paths once again this time I was determined to never let her go. This woman brings me joy happiness laughter and absolute unconditional love to my life everyday. She has the made.me the happiest man up until now until she makes me the happiest man forever I love you

Ice cream is pretty much my favorite thing on earth-right after Chinese food, and any one who knows me knows my favorite ice cream place is The Ice Cream Barn in Swansea, MA. They typically close for the season the week before Christmas so we always try to get there for one last cone. We decided I would meet him there on my way home from work on December 20th, 2017 their last day open for the season. So I leave work and get in my car and start driving while jamming out to some Justin Timberlake. I make the left on to the street where the mall is and I have this thought pop into my head, "He's going to ask me to marry him". I have no idea why it came over me but I just knew he was going to propose to me at The Barn. I pull in the barn and he seems nervous. We go inside and order, and in my head I'm thinking, Okay this is it its going to be on top of my ice cream or something. As suspected they had sugar free vanilla left, so I got a sundae with extra hot fudge and peanut butter cups. My ice cream comes out and to my surprise there is no ring. I think to myself okay maybe I was wrong hes not going to propose. We head out to his car and I go to sit in it because you know it is December in Massachusetts so it's not particularly warm outside to be eating ice cream. He is insistent that I stand in front of his car with him and then it hit me, THIS IS IT! He kept asking me to come over to him and I was in full panic mode so it went a little like this- Babe come here, no I don't want to go over there, Babe put down your ice cream, I don't want to put down my ice cream. He finally convinces me to stand still and attempts to get down on one knee. He is saying his little speech he prepared that I couldn't even tell you what he said and then he asked "Will you marry me?" To which I responded "Yes but get up people are looking at us".

This is how she said yes to a good old boy like me. It was about August 2017 when I first hatch the plan to propose to Colby. After months of deciding what would be the perfect ring I finally found it in November of that same year . Next came the meeting with her lovely parents which I thought was going to be the most difficult thing during this whole process. To my surprise her parents were ecstatic and made me feel so eased and told me they would love me to be the man to take there daughter's hand in marriage . Now came to how I was going to propose to her as many will know she is impossible to surprise and plan anything for because she is a freelance detective and always figures everything out. I finally decided on one of her favorite places in the world. It was December 20th and her favorite ice cream place The Ice Cream Barn in Swansea mass was open for there last working day of the season. I was delighted to find out she was excited to go there for the last time that year. So I waited for her to get home from work and the plan was in motion as we get to the ice cream barn we come to find out they literally had 2 maybe 3 flavors left on the menu. As you can already tell her disappointment was obvious and I had to talk her into just getting something . She gets her ice cream and we head outside I waited for the perfect spot and told her to put her ice cream down she preceded to tell me no let's just go home. Finally after the earth shifted I got her to put it down and it was time to propose. At this point I was so nervous I thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest. I went to get down on one new and she immediately figured out was going on and hit me with a no no no (THE LAST WORDS YOU WANT TO HEAR) and a get up people are staring. I told her I loved her and would want nothing more to make her my better half for the rest of our lives and she said YES. Excitement set in and she called her mom crying and here we are today.
