Believe it or not, our love story started on Snapchat — back when everyone used to post their friends’ usernames on their stories like it was a public matchmaking service. One day, Lucas happened to add me after seeing my name on my best friend Tina’s story. We stayed acquaintances on the app for a while… until fate (and my 23rd birthday plans) stepped in. For my birthday that year, I was getting ready with Tina at her family friend’s house— where coincidentally Lucas was actually living at the time. As we got dressed, I looked at Tina and thought, *Why not invite him?* Lucas hesitated for a second, but thankfully curiosity (and maybe the promise of a fun night) made him say yes. The night was already memorable, but it got even more interesting when I nearly drank a stranger’s scorpion bowl. Lucas immediately intervened — clearly saving me from myself —and bought me one of my own instead. Looking back, that might’ve been his first act of love. From there, everything felt easy. During undergrad, I’d visit him after class and we’d watch Netflix, eat wing dingz and pizza from his favorite spot, and just exist together in the most effortless way. No big gestures, no overthinking—just comfort, laughter, and the kind of connection that feels like home. We’ve always been comfortable with each other—playful, honest, and our truest selves. What started as a random Snapchat add turned into a love that fits us perfectly. And now… here we are, getting married. 💛
