Let's keep this version short and sweet. First: it was summer & there was a very tall, very handsome man in cargo shorts traversing Wisconsin. Coincidentally, also wandering (or floating really), through life in the dairy state was a a fair skinned brunette; for anyone unfamiliar, Wisconsin produces a wily sort of woman, and this time was no different. As fate would have it, the two worked for the same company and found themselves face to face (well, face to sternum if we're being honest), and the proverbial deal was sealed long before either was fully aware of what was unfolding. Fast Forward: There were things, promotions, moves, ski trips...but I digress; the two both wound up in Chicago. And after an extended prideful & laissez faire courtship, they finally admitted to themselves and the world that yes, this was indeed “a thing”. Chicago could not have been more of a love story and the two lost themselves in a whirlwind of overpriced but necessary dinners, island getaways, weekends up north, and getting away to the coasts of Connecticut and Charleston anytime they could. They bought a house, they built a garden, they hung out in their backyard, and they were very very happy. Our story took another charmed detour in the spring of 2022. We found ourselves moving east, we bought land (we bought a lot of things...), we changed roles, some of us changed companies ;) But we had each other and we were still very very happy; and as terribly cringe as that sounds, it was true. We found ourselves leaning on each other in new and different ways and it solidified all the things we knew but rarely spoke. A daydream of sorts. A frigid proposal came that Christmas (a story for another time lest we take any more of yours), and, well, here we are; writing silly stories on wedding websites in the interest of persuading every important person we know to come celebrate love... Okay so that wasn't that short of a story, but it's definitely the sweetest, & we wouldn't have written it any other way. We absolutely cannot wait to see you all at the party! Cheers!
