Stephanie and Taj met and exchanged snapchats at the gym on campus where Taj attended dental school. The chance meeting led to a party invite where Taj impressed Stephanie with his dj skills. They knew immediately they had a connection that Taj asked Stephanie on a date the following night. One date led to another and, with some amazing trips in between, they have been inseparable for the last five years. All of these years of love has led to this moment, and they can't wait to tie the knot in front of their loved ones!
The night that I proposed to Steph was one of the most exciting but nerve-racking nights of my life. I knew I wanted to pop the question in the city where our love began and I also knew I wanted to do it around Christmas, our favorite holiday (and my birthday). We already had plans to see the lights at the historic Pearl district downtown with friends, so I used that as my opportunity. With the help of Stephanie’s best friend of 15 years, Kandice, I was able to keep the proposal a surprise which, if you know Steph, is almost impossible to do. As we finished our walk through the lights, I asked Kandice to take a picture of us just as we passed the backdrop I had envisioned. I looked across the scene and saw that Steven, one of my best friends who is a photographer, was lying in wait and ready to capture the moment. When Stephanie turned back after the photo, she was surprised to find me on one knee asking for her hand in marriage. Things became pretty fuzzy for me at this point as my nerves made my knees shake and the windy weather didn’t help much either. Lucky for me, she said yes! As we celebrated with a hug and a kiss, our close friends and family were able to come out of hiding and share the unforgettable moment with us. Champagne was popped on the spot before we made a short stroll to Hotel Emma, where we spent the rest of the night having dinner and drinks. The perfect ending to a night that I will never forget.
