Some love stories start with fireworks, but Taja'Nae and James' journey began simply—walking to the car after school. In 7th and 8th grade, their friendship blossomed, with James always there to walk Taja'Nae to her car, a gesture that would foreshadow his lifelong commitment. As life took them in different directions, they stayed connected through handwritten letters while James served in the military and Taja'Nae attended Hampton University. Their bond grew even stronger. James drove eight hours to visit Taja'Nae at Hampton, and from that moment on, their friendship evolved into something deeper. Despite the miles between them, countless flights back and forth became part of their story, each trip filled with laughter, adventure, and the building of lasting memories. Their first vacation together in San Antonio, Texas, marked the beginning of their romantic journey.
