We met in English class, just two students sitting a few desks apart, pretending to focus on the lesson while slowly becoming each other’s favorite distraction. Somewhere between shared glances, small jokes about the assignments, and walking each other to the next class, something started to grow. At first it was simple, After school conversations, phone calls until way too late, finding excuses to see each other in the hallway. But what we didn’t realize, was that we weren’t just passing time, we were building the foundation for something that would last. We fell in love young and everyone says young love doesn’t last, but we never felt like we were wasting each other’s time. Even in high school, there was something steady about us. We supported each other through exams, big decisions, doubts, and dreams. We grew up side by side not perfectly, but together. Graduation came, and while everything around us was changing, one thing stayed the same. We kept choosing each other. Now, as we prepare to say “I do,” we look back at those two teenagers who met between book pages and hallway bells and now we are so grateful they took a chance on each other. We didn’t just grow up, we grew together, and this next chapter (our marriage) is the one we’ve been writing toward all along. 🤍💍
