We met in the lounge of Memorial Hall at Hood College our freshman year. Tailyn was sitting on the couch studying when Brandon walked into the lounge with his soccer teammates. Tailyn, thinking he was cute, snapped of photo of him and sent it to her sisters. She was not sneaky enough, though, and Brandon’s teammate told him that she had taken a picture of him. Brandon proceeded to call out Tailyn’s name from across the room, to which she responded, “Yeah?” Brandon asked “Can you help me?” and Tailyn replied, “With what?” His answer: “My English homework.” Rumor has it that Tailyn is still helping him with his homework to this day.

Brandon planned an elaborate proposal that included the Baltimore Orioles, Tampa Bay Rays, and Tailyn's favorite player, Kevin Kiermaier. Having the connections he does, Brandon managed to get ahold of the Ray's PR person to see if KK would help during batting practice to create the perfect proposal. The goal: Sign Tailyn's ball and have KK direct Tailyn to Brandon on one knee. However, it did not go exactly to plan when KK asked Tailyn to turn around so he could see if she truly was wearing his name on her jersey (Of course she was!) and Brandon took that as a sign to get down on one knee. Tailyn of course said "yes!" We got video interviewed by Ryan Bass and even got an article in the Tampa Bay Times! However, the true question remains - Which was more exciting, meeting Kevin Kiermaier, or the engagement?
