Flight
It is going to be overwhelming for some stepping out into the humidity and chaos that is Bali. We will be arriving on the 22nd June 2025 so can assist anyone with their planning if they need it. You will need a visa to get into Bali. You can buy them on the day, but there may be lines. If you are organised you can go online a purchase an E-Visa so you can skip the lines. Remember to also fill out the declaration form. You can buy a phone sim at the airport! Most of the hotels and bar's will have wifi so buying a sim is not necessary but we have always purchased one so that we're not stuck when there is no wifi. We love to use grab when we are in Bali. It's pretty much the Asian version of Uber, so you'll receive a price that's fair instead of the taxi drivers making it up. You will need internet connection to book a grab, and they only deal in cash.
Hotel
It will be easiest to travel to the wedding events if you book something in Canggu. We will be staying in Canggu before we check into the wedding villas. However, as there is an abundance of transport in Bali, you can stay wherever you like on the island. Just be cautious of traffic jams if you want to be somewhere at a certain time.
Rental Car
Bali is famous for Scooters. If you want to drive a scooter, there will be plenty of rental options around your hotel. Ask the staff at your hotel for recommendations, and they will normally find you someone with the best price. Please take photos of all angles of the scooters before you drive away so you don't get pinged with a random ding. Please also be careful! Bali roads are chaos and we want our guests to be happy AND healthy. If a scooter is not your thing and you like the safety of being inside a vehicle, not a worry! There are plenty of taxis in Bali. If you download Grab you can order a car. Otherwise if you talk to some locals, there is always someone's cousin that is a personal driver and you can hire for a fee. Remember bartering is a part of their culture, so barter away.
