We've been together for 3 wonderful years and during this strange time in our world, we've decided to get married during Quarantine 2020 and the global pandemic to join our lives formally. While it is a difficult decision not to have a traditional wedding full of guests, we know it is the right one given these unusual circumstances. We will have a very small backyard vows ceremony at our home on October 10, 2020 (10.10.20) with a few socially-distanced and mask-wearing witnesses. In 2022 (2 years from now), we plan to renew our vows in a larger celebration which will include more members of our families and friends. Since many have inquired about sending gifts and well-wishes, we've created a short registry on ZOLA and will have some virtual gatherings via Zoom to be able to celebrate with you and share our excitement for this upcoming milestone for our blended family. This love is based on the values of honesty, joy, mutual support, music, consistency, and family first. Like so many modern couples, Tai and Will met online in 2017. Recently single, they joined a dating website looking to find "the one" and they both swiped right after reading each other's online profiles. They had an instant connection virtually and moved from written messages to a phone call in the same evening. In that phone call they shared about their lives, their hopes, dreams, fears, and insecurities. They talked about why dating had been challenging and most importantly, they made real space to discuss personal struggles and needs. William often says that he knew he'd found the one after that conversation. Tai was a little bit more stubborn to come around ... They planned a date for later that week, but when it came time to meet up, Tai cancelled 3 hours before suggesting that maybe it wasn't the best time for her to start something new since recent dating experiences were so frustrating. Will accepted the cancellation that night, but called back the next day and said, "How are you feeling about trying something new today?"....Tai accepted the 2nd date request and their date that night was a whole 8 hours long, across two fun locations (rooftop seafood dining and late night basement Hip Hop/Karaoke singing the night away). At the end of the night, Will asked "What are our plans for tomorrow?" and they've been inseparable ever since that day. They've shared 3 beautiful years together and have always known they'd spend their lives together going forward, but William surprised Tai with a beautiful proposal at their home on August 26, 2020 (Tai's 40th Birthday). Through their love they've joined two beautiful families, created one amazing toddler, and shared many joys with Will's four brilliant and beautiful adult daughters. Continuing this chapter of their lives together is more than they'd hoped for and they are excited to celebrate with you virtually.
