Believe it or not, it all started when we both swiped right! Jim was new to the area, and he began employment at the DA’s office that I had worked in for 5 years. From the get-go, the banter was a-flying, and the Roomba jokes sealed the deal for a first date. Two days later, we met up at a bar called The Boardroom in downtown Modesto, CA. The date’s conversations were seamless, despite being harassed by a homeless man. We have talked every day since our meeting in that February of 2017.

Jim planned a hike to Knights Ferry, which was where our first hike as a couple occurred. With Dill the pitbull at our side, Jim proposed by the water with a claddagh ring, which is an important ring in his family. It stands for “love, loyalty and friendship.”
