Please ensure that you RSVP by January 1st, 2026 to confirm your attendance. You can do this by navigating to the 'RSVP' tab on this website and following the prompts from there. We look forward to seeing you on the big day!
If your tamariki's names are listed alongside yours on the envelope of your invitation, or your RSVP card, then they are welcome to attend. Please confirm their attendance along with your own, so that we have the correct numbers to arrange seating. Our wedding will be casual and child-friendly, with plenty of grass for them to run around and play on. They'll probably have to deal with about 30-45 minutes max of boredom at the ceremony, so if they can cope with that, they should be sweet! We ask that you please do ensure that your children are not being disruptive (talking, crying, etc) during the ceremony. We'll be glad to have them there! There will be a kid's table in the reception area, however you are welcome to use your lap as a spare seat at your assigned table if that works better for you and your family.
You sure can! Please refer to the 'Travel' section of this website to determine if this might be the right choice for you. You can reach out to either Tahlia or Josh to secure yourself a bed.
We will not be running a shuttle, so you'll need to make your own way to Borland Lodge! Of course, if you plan on drinking, please ensure that you hitch a ride with somebody else. We want everyone to have a safe journey to and from the venue!
There are plenty of parking spaces available near the entrance of Borland Lodge, so don't worry too much! If you've booked a bed, you might be able to park in front of your cabin, depending on where it's located.
Borland Lodge is a beautiful spot for a wedding, but it's still a campground, so semi-formal attire will be appropriate and flat footwear will probably be your best bet. The groomsmen and the groom will be wearing khaki/tan, and the bridesmaids will be wearing emerald green. If you're spending the night, make sure to pack some comfy clothes and pajamas!
Nothing is quite set in stone yet, but we're aiming to make the most of the sun, so the ceremony is scheduled for 1:30pm. This will be followed by nibbles and mingling until the reception begins around 4pm. The plan isn't to party late into the night - think more of a family get-together vibe. We hope for everybody to have a relaxing day, surrounded by beautiful scenery!
Snacks and dinner (pizza from Vinny's - yum!) will be provided following the wedding ceremony. Gluten-free and dairy-free options will be available on request. Please ensure that you announce any dietary restrictions when you RSVP so that we can accommodate for your needs!
Please BYO alcohol, but not too much! We ask that you consider the child-friendly nature of the event, and that the bride can be unnerved by heavy drinking. We would appreciate for behaviour to remain orderly to ensure fun for everyone. Please also note that we are responsible for keeping Borland Lodge litter-free, so make sure to be a tidy Kiwi and put your empty cans and bottles in the bin, or the bride and groom will have to do it the next day!
Please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony - we have a photographer doing that job already! For the rest of it, go crazy - we'd love to see the event through your eyes! We ask, however, that you don't post any of your awesome photos or videos until the bride or groom has released their own images of the big day.
Borland Lodge is a bit of a blank canvas. If you're outdoorsey (even minimally, like we are), you'll probably enjoy your time there. If you'd like to make a trip out of your visit, Te Anau is about an hour away, while Lake Monowai is around 10km away. A good 45 minutes up the road is a beautful lookout, but be warned, the road is a bit trecherous - it popped one of the tyres on Josh's first love (his Volkswagen Golf)!
That's great! Feel free to flick Josh or Tahlia a message, and we'll do our best to answer it :)
