Things To Do

We're so excited to welcome you to our city! Check out some of our favorite places while you're in town!
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

4525 Oak Street, Kansas City, MO 64111

The museum is very close to our wedding venue and a great place to spend an afternoon. Admission is free!

National WWI Museum and Memorial

2 Memorial Drive, Kansas City, MO 64108

The WWI Museum is great in itself, but if you don't want to tour the entire museum, the memorial has an awesome view of the entire city!

Boulevard Brewing Company

Boulevard Brewing Company

2501 Southwest Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64108

Kansas City's signature beer! Take a tour of the brewery or stop by the beer hall for a drink. We recommend the BLVD '89 Lager and or Southwest BLVD.

Made in KC Marketplace - Plaza

Made in KC Marketplace - Plaza

306 West 47th Street, Kansas City, MO 64112

Made in KC is great for coffee or cocktails! Be sure to grab some locally made KC merch while you're there. We were regulars for happy hour at the Plaza location in the early days of dating, then at the Baltimore location downtown when we lived at 12th and McGee. Made in KC will always have a special place in our hearts!

Joe's Kc Bbq

Joe's Kc Bbq

3002 West 47th Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66103

The city's best BBQ, in our opinion! There are several locations but the original spot operating out of an old gas station is the most fun experience.

Q39 - Midtown

Q39 - Midtown

1000 West 39th Street, Kansas City, MO 64111

Another very good BBQ spot, but more of a sit-down restaurant. We recommend making a reservation and getting the burnt ends.

City Market

20 East 5th Street, Kansas City, MO 64106

An iconic KC sight! We recommend heading down on Saturday or Sunday morning. Grab a coffee or lunch and explore the many local vendors!

Betty Rae's Ice Cream

412 Delaware Street, Kansas City, MO 64105

Our favorite Kansas City ice cream! There are many locations, but the River Market spot is our favorite.

Parisi - Union Station

30 West Pershing Road, Kansas City, MO 64108

Try some David Amos coffee! The Union Station location is accessible by the KC Streetcar from the KC Marriott Country Club Plaza, but the Overland Park location is also a crowd favorite.

Messenger Coffee Co. + Ibis Bakery

1624 Grand Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64108

Another great choice for coffee and breakfast! Ride the hotel shuttle to the Plaza location or take the KC Streetcar down to the original spot on Grand (our personal favorite). The bakery items are awesome - Tahlia recommends the Kouign Amann.

The Peanut

7938 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS 66204

Our favorite sports bar! We went on a journey in Summer 2025 to rank all of the locations, and the Santa Fe spot is our overall pick. They are famous for their buffalo wings and for good reason!
