Question

How did Tahl and Luke meet?

Answer

The internet… one of those dating sites brought Tahl and Luke to each other’s attention. Many thanks to Al Gore for inventing the internet and discussing global climate change before it was cool.

Question

First Date?

Answer

A tapas restaurant named La Bodega - the location we met at was lost due to COVID, but the original site still operates in Kansas City’s Crossroads district and can be counted on for a quick bite, a great meal with friends or a romantic evening for two that sparks a romance for life.

Question

Who are the parents?

Answer

Eliezer and Leah Ben-Yehuda welcomed Tahl into this world as the first child of their family of four children. Elie, born in Israel, came to the USA in 1954 and served as rabbi for congregations in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Florida. Leah managed the household and has been a lifelong educator, working with profoundly disabled children. John and Anna Marie McGlynn were somewhat surprised to have Luke join their family as the youngest of ten children. Following WW II, John was a farmer and rural mail carrier in Cazenovia, Wisconsin. Anna Marie was a school teacher when her hands were not full of garden vegetables, laundry, or yowling children. John passed away in 1999; Anna Marie in 2002. May their memories be blessings.

Question

Who are the kids?

Answer

Eliana, Tahl’s eldest at age 23, works at Hunter College Hillel, following her 2022 graduation from Barnard and the Jewish Theological Seminary. Molly, Luke’s eldest at age 22, is a working artist in Kansas City. She has individual murals in local venues and collaborated on murals at the new Kansas City airport terminal. Sara, Tahl’s younger daughter, recently celebrated her 21st birthday and is attending the University of Maryland. Owen, Luke’s youngest at age 19, recently entered the University of Massachusetts at Amherst as a computer science major.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is ample parking at Congregation Beth Shalom.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We have not booked any group transportation from the hotel to the ceremony. The hotel is two miles from Congregation Beth Shalom. If you prefer not to drive, and/or don't have a car, feel free to take an Uber or Lyft.

Question

I've never been to a Jewish wedding - what can I expect?
