Unless we want to take this alllll the way back to middle school ;) we'll start when we, let’s call it “re-met”. Rewind to Jamie's 23rd birthday. It's April 20th, 2018 and Jamie hosted some friends for a beach bonfire hangout down in Mission Beach. Please note: Tahj was not invited. Not intentionally, Tahj and Jamie just hadn't stayed in touch after high school. Little did Jamie know that Max Michaels, who did get invited to the bonfire, asked Tahj to be the DD that night. So, party has started, everyone's hanging out, catching up... Jamie looks over to see this very fit, very attractive guy running on to the beach. Is that Tahj Haywood??? Oh it sure was. He ran right over to the birthday girl, lays down next to her and says "Hey, happy birthday. I brought you a present." Opens his palm to reveal two starbursts. "One is for you and one is for Courtney." That night he continued to show off his athletic ability in classic Tahj fashion, sprinting up and down the beach playing frisbee. They concluded the night with Tahj offering to fold Jamie's beach blanket (like a true gentlemen). Following that night, Tahj and Jamie continued to build their friendship built on common interests- sunset hikes, spikeball Fridays, yoga sessions & weekly Cold Stone cravings. Slowly but surely the friendship grew into feelings #classic. After a couple years of (again #classic) on and off dating, fear of committing, needing to figure things out as individuals, blah blah blah ;) the year 2020 arrived and Courtney & Jonathan we're getting married!!! Jamie threw the happy couple a surprise bachelor/bachelorette party and guess who got an invite this time? Tahj Haywood. Long story short, Jamie celebrated her sister and now brother-in-law a little too hard and ended up taking a little mid-party nap. Tahj ended up laying with Jamie for 2+ hours while they, for lack of a better phrase, had a much needed and long over-due heart to heart: what they had learned about themselves, what they were still scared of, how they had grown, and how much they still loved each other. 2 weeks later Tahj asked Jamie to be his girlfriend and after that it was a done deal. Now we're getting married!!!!
