In June 2024, as we talked for the first time over lunch, the connection that would grow into true love was clear as day. Though we came from opposite sides of the country, we felt completely at home by each other’s side. Over the months, our two worlds slowly merged into one. We traveled together, met each other’s families, and made countless memories, the whole time deepening our love, support, and sense of belonging. As we grew closer to each other, we also deepened our connection to our faith. Through the strength and support we shared, we became more involved in our Church community and focused on what it truly meant to be together, putting our Catholic faith first. In August 2025 on the other side of the world, 47 stories above Tokyo, as we gazed out over the endless sea of city lights I got down on one knee. With those same lights twinkling brightly in her eyes, I nervously recited my speech, and her loving “yes” made all my dreams come true. With our lives changed forever we spent the rest of the trip celebrating our engagement. Now back in America, wedding planning is in full swing and we can't wait to start this next chapter in our lives surrounded by the people we love. Continuing to love each other and growing in our faith.
