Love has a way of finding you in the most unexpected places—like the basement of a college dorm during a game of pool. In the summer of 2013, two freshmen from Memphis—Taeler and Terrance—met during orientation weekend, surrounded by new faces and nervous excitement. Fate (and a pool table) brought us together. That night left a subtle but unforgettable impression. By the time the autumn leaves touched the campus, our connection had grown from casual run-ins to undeniable friendship—and something more. From games at the rec center to a not-so-slick excuse about borrowing a history book (which Terrance used as an excuse to get Taeler’s number), our story began taking shape in the most unexpected, endearing ways. Our first “date” was Chick-fil-A, with a side of shy smiles and subtle sparks. From there, our days were filled with campus strolls, late-night talks, inside jokes, and a growing sense that this might just be something special. Over the years, we’ve grown together through victories and challenges, joy and tears, learning not just about the world—but about each other. We made a quiet promise early on: to always show up for one another, to be each other’s safe place, and to never forget the fun that brought us together in the first place. Volume 1 of our love story has been filled with laughter, lessons, and deep-rooted love. Now, as we become Mr. and Mrs. Nichols on December 7th, we’re excited to turn the page and begin Volume 2—together, forever—with you there to witness.
