We met through friends! Tadd went to college with Jennifer's best friend's brother. We'd met a few times over the years at gatherings, but Jennifer always assumed Tadd was taken (how could someone so cute not be!?). One fateful night we were with friends at a bar and Jennifer decided to make the first move. For our first date we went to a sushi restaurant and the rest, as they say, is history.

Memorial Day weekend is Jennifer's Birthday weekend and we have been spending it backpacking around the beautiful parks our great state has to offer. Last year was no different, we were set to spend Jennifer's 30th up at Itasca State Park. We hiked back to our own private lake, did a tick check & set up camp. The next morning we spent time exploring the area around camp and getting ready for the day. There were pairs of huge Trumpeter swans swimming around on our lake. Tadd handed Jennifer the binoculars to take a closer look, and when she looked over at him next, he was down on one knee. The next few minutes were a blur, but Jennifer definitely said yes at some point. After things came back into focus, we hiked over to the headwaters of the Mississippi. Now we are getting married!
