We're Getting married!

In 2020, during the global COVID-19 pandemic, Tabria and Jackie, or Shon as she calls him met online via a dating app. Tabria was talked into creating an account by one of her friends and was told to "just try it!" While Tabria was opposed to the idea, she went ahead and created an account. After 2 days of dead-end conversations, Tabria was over it and convinced that dating apps were a waste of time, that is until Shon, slid into her DM. It was Shon's approach to initiating a conversation, by making a joke, that stood out to Tabria. Shon thought that he was smooth enough to ask for Tabria's number after a few minutes of talking, but she made him wait 3 days until she gave him her number. When Shon disclosed that he lived in COLUMBUS, OH, Tabria thought nothing else of the conversation, due to her living in SACRAMENTO, CA. On June 30, 2020, Shon called Tabria for the first time, while she was watching TV with her mom (mother-daughter time), Tabria told her mom to pause their show because she was only going to give Shon 15-minutes of her time. A 15-minute phone conversation turned into a 4-hour conversation. It was then they both knew their connection was deeper than anticipated. From the beginning, Shon had told Tabria that God told him she was his wife. In true form, Tabria responded with sarcasm and said, "well he sure didn't tell me that." On August 14, 2020, during his first visit with Tabria, Shon asked her to be his girlfriend and serenaded her with an oldie classic, "Make Me Say It Again Girl, Pts . 1 & 2 by The Isley Brothers (Yes, he sang the entire song!). On January 25, 2021, Shon moved to California to further pursue his relationship with Tabria. During this time, God allowed them to grow together and support each other at trying times. While their love story may not be a traditional one, it is a unique one joined by God. On August 14, 2021, Shon asked Tabria if she would be willing to change her last name to his and be his wife. Of course, she said yes!
