I have a question...(FAQs)

Question

What time can we show up to the Venue?

Answer

The Thaxton doors will open at 5:00pm and the ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30PM at which time unfortunately you will be refused entry until after the ceremony is concluded. This is only because due to the unique nature of our venue Tabitha will be entering through the same front doors as our guests when she walks down the aisle. <3

Question

Where is parking located?

Answer

Since it's downtown there is plenty of street parking around the venue. If you prefer a parking garage there are 3-4 very affordable parking garages a quick 5 minute walk from The Thaxton. We recommend using the Parkwiz or Spothero phone apps. The address of parking lots/garages we recommend are as follows: Parking Lots: 1183 Pine St - Pine Street Parking Lot - Distance .1 miles (2 minute walk) 913 Pine St - 10th and Pine Parking Lot - Distance .1 miles (2 minute walk) Parking Garages: 604 Pine St. - Kiener West Garage - Distance .3 miles (6 minute walk) 500 Pine St. - Kiener East Garage - Distance .3 miles (7 minute walk)

Question

Do I have to pay for parking?

Answer

Yes, but we promise it will be worth it! Parking should range from $5 to no more than $20.

Question

Is there an open bar?

Answer

Are you kidding? Are Tony and Tabitha going to have an open bar?! OF COURSE. Full bar. Beer, mixed drinks, house infused moonshine, everything. Lets get weird!

Question

What is the dress code like?

Answer

We're getting married at a really cool speakeasy, so lean more into the cocktail/formal style of wear. The only main asks we have are no jeans, cargo shorts, jean shorts, that kind of thing.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love you, we love your children, but this is a child free wedding with no exceptions (please don't make it awkward and ask us to make one). Find a sitter, come downtown and get weird with us!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

The Thaxton was originally a camera store built in the 1930s so it wasn't intended to be a speakeasy, or a wedding venue. That's why it's so cool and unique! Because of this it can't really hold more than 100 people. If your invite says "and guest" then bring a guest! But no more than what is listed on your invite, because they won't have a seat. So if you got an invite we love you (a lot!)

Question

What's the food going to be like?

Answer

Sugarfire Smokehouse will be catering our wedding! We're planning on having the following Meats: Brisket, pulled pork and smoked turkey breast. Sides: White cheddar mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole and a house salad. Also there won't be a wedding cake, we decided to have doughnuts from Vincent Van Dougnut instead! They're gonna be great.

Question

What's the music situation going to be like?

Answer

Tyler Kasch will be DJing our wedding and officiating our ceremony! You may know him as Tyler Konersman, the voice of metalcore band Tear Out the Heart and the pop punk band Hard Loss!

Question

You don't want physical gifts? Really?

Answer

Really! We've been living together for a few years and we own a house together already! (Yeah, we kinda did things backwards) So we already have what we need for our home. Contributing to our honeymoon is the best idea possible!

Question

Is the ceremony and the reception happening at The Thaxton?

Answer

Yup! After our ceremony everyone will head downstairs to the speakeasy grab a drink while they break down the wedding setup and set up the main hall for food. Wait till you see downstairs, it's why we chose the venue! While you're downstairs we'll be bopping around taking photos and you'll be getting loosened up.

Question

Can we take pictures and video of the ceremony?

Answer

We are paying a lot of money to have our ceremony professionally photographed. Have you ever see those photos of the bride walking down the isle, or the bride and groom kissing at the end of the ceremony with 25 cell phones in the frame completely ruining the shot? That's our biggest fear. Please keep your phones and cameras down during the ceremony. We promise we'll include a quick second in our ceremony to let guests take photos with their phone if they wish. Please help us make sure our photographers photos come out as great as possible.

Question

What should I do if I RSVP'd and now can't make it?

Answer

Please let us know as soon as possible! Really. If you got an invite it means we are super excited to see you and will be looking for you during our ceremony and reception! Let us down easy, but don't ghost!
