Maid of Honor
Bri and I met when I was 18 years old. She always held her composure when she came around me. Right away and I noticed Bri was a very intelligent person. We met in the weirdest way and in the end we became friends for a lifetime. She’s the type of friend that I know that I can count on through thick and thin. She’s the kind of friend that you will only find once in a lifetime. Her uniqueness of personality and beauty amazes me. She’s one of the most open-minded person that I’ve ever known. Her heart, her mind, her soul is so loving. Through the years we’ve had our ups and downs but in the end true friendship will never die. I appreciate the love that Bri has for me no matter how bratty I can get. LOL! Thank you Bri for being a true best friend.
Bridesmaid
Sheila and I met when I was 18 years old. She has been the friend that will always be true, honest, and protective over you. Her heart warms the room when she walks in. When it came to Sheila, she would always make sure that I was okay, especially in my younger years. LOL! I know with her I can always count on her when it comes to anything that in life. Sheila is a dependable type of friend that will always make sure you know what a true friend is. Everything about her is so beautiful. On the outside and most of all what matters is in the inside. I appreciate Sheila’s kindness, loyalty, and love for me.
Best Man
Cecil is more than a friend & closer than family. We first met on our journey through the Air Force. I met many people in tech school, but Cecil is the only friend that is still with me today. After tech school, Cecil was my big brother. He always kept me out of trouble. I was quick to make hot headed & irrational decisions but Cecil was always there to keep me grounded. Even when I went through with some of those decisions, he was there to help me clean up the pieces. He gave me shelter when I was homeless, gave me a shoulder when I was broken, & brought me into his family when I felt abandoned. I owe all of my success to him, because without him I would not have survived my first enlistment. Even though fate has put 2000+ miles between us, he is still there for me through everything.
Groomsman
The funny thing is Pete & I started off on a rocky road that ended as a father/son relationship. I first met Pete when my boxing trainer was hanging up his training gloves, & Pete was asked to take over as my trainer. At first, he thought I was too old to learn a new sport & be successful. He even tried to run me away by having some of his best fighters kick the crap out of me during sparing, & by being extra hard on me during training. Through all of this I kept coming back & my hard work earned Pete's respect. Since then Pete has taken me under his wing & mentored me on life as well as boxing. The thing I cherish most about Pete is his family. They are all so loving & caring. They treat me like a son, Tabby as a daughter, & they love our children almost as much as we do.
Father of the Groom
My dad is the reason I take pride in being a father & I always put my best foot forward in everything. I remember when dad started gardening & his compost business. He didn't know much & didn't have a lot of land to work with. However, he would be out everyday making improvements to his process until he felt like it was perfect & even then he was trying & willing to learn more. He is now one of the most successful organic gardeners not only Alabama but in the US. He showed that with hard work, dedication, & faith anything can turn into a living dream, even horse manure. The most vital thing to my dad is his faith. He can turn anything into a conversation about GOD. Ask him to explain the Matrix movies. He ensured all his children were cemented in GOD's word, & we all respect him for that.
Mother of the Groom
My mom is the strongest woman I know. Life has given her the best & the worst of times. Growing up, I always remember her smiling regardless of which side of the coin she was dealing with. My sisters & I didn't make things any easier for her either, as we grew up, but my mom always kept us in line. I cherish my mom because she is the reason I know right from wrong & for showing me how to be a loving parent. To this day I still share some of the same lessons and experiences, that my mom gave me as a child, with Ariella. I credit my mom for the bond & relationship that I have with Ariella. Another great thing about my mother is she takes her role as mother bear extremely serious. She will try to protect her cubs from anything & anyone. She is my definition of what true love really is.
